Job Summary
# Job Summary
This position is responsible for the safekeeping of college, state, federal and student's assets. Responsibilities include the accounting for all the financial aid programs, drawing down federal funds, disbursement of financial aid and student refunds, preparing the daily deposit, helping students with their accounts and completing the reporting for federal financial aid for Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College.
Qualifications
## Minimum Qualifications:
* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.
* Knowledge of the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT), or other private or governmental accounting system, sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and assist with preparation and maintenance of spending plans, financial status reports and budget requests.
* Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing software, computers and other office equipment such as calculators.
* Mathematics skills sufficient to calculate, review and reconcile data and balance accounts.
* Ability to design, interpret and explain work procedures and operations and provide advice on fiscal policies and procedures.
* Ability to read and write a variety of materials in English.
## Preferred Qualifications:
* Have an understanding of ISRS, Minnesota States integrated statewide records system.
* Work experience in Higher Education.
* Understanding of Federal financial aid regulations.
* The incumbent must be able to develop and recommend improvements in work procedures and forms by applying knowledge of accounting procedures.
* Basic business and governmental accounting terminology, principles and procedures sufficient to record, post and code information.
* Law, policies, procedures, and Minnesota State requirements for handling and depositing state funds.
* Provide courteous and efficient service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers sufficient to explain policies and procedures and deal with complaints from clients who may be hostile, confused or agitated.
* Meet required deadlines and adapt to change.
* Interpret and apply policies related to business office, student records, registration, financial aid, and data privacy in accordance with Federal and State laws and college policy.

This position requires successful completion of the following:
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
